Principal's Message

It is my great honour to have the opportunity to serve as the 3rd Principal of the POCA Wong Siu Ching Secondary School, succeeding my distinguished predecessors, Mr. Chan Siu Ming and Mr. Lee Man Biu, with their remarkable achievements over the decades.

Since its establishment in 1979, POCA Wong Siu Ching Secondary School has been providing high quality education for students in Hong Kong. With the strong commitment and dedication of our teachers, we have nurtured diligent, respectful and motivated students who have consistently achieved good results in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) and the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) throughout the years. In addition to the development of students' intellectual capacity and moral character, we have offered them ample opportunities to participate in interschool activities, such as in Hong Kong Schools Sports Federation Inter-school competitions and Hong Kong Schools Music Festival, as well as in the Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival, in which they frequently attained outstanding results. We are proud of the accomplishments of our students who are competent in their academic and non-academic pursuits.

Under the policy of fine-tuning the Medium of Instruction for Secondary Schools, our school has been granted the privilege to switch our Medium of Instruction from Chinese to English in all Form 1 classes in the 2010/11 school year. Building upon the solid foundation of our school, we shall strive to provide a favourable and effective English learning environment for our students.

This year our school enters the fourth decade of its inception. While we celebrate the 30th Anniversary of its success which is attributed to the toil, tears and sweat of all the stakeholders including the school sponsoring body, administrators, teaching and non-teaching staff, parents and students, it is also a time to tackle the new challenges facing us, like the transition from using Chinese as the medium of instruction to that of English, the implementation of the 3-3-4 New Senior Secondary (NSS) Academic Structure and the need to optimize the class structure.

In a fast-growing commercial city like Hong Kong, the habitat for education is constantly changing. As the Principal, I fully understand that POCA Wong Siu Ching Secondary School cannot keep up with the demands of our dynamic and evolving society without the support of all the parties concerned. I firmly believe that the heart of education is the education of the heart and from the heart. With a heart to bring up our younger generation as independent and responsible people, I shall endeavour to collaborate with all the stakeholders through various channels of communication, listen to their opinions and share with them my values and vision in education for the benefit of the whole school community.
